History

Glen Eden Multimodal Centre was founded by Dr. F. V. Brennan in 1984 as a day treatment program that included educational instruction for children and youth with various combinations of neurological and neuropsychiatric problems, physical and mental developmental delays, extreme emotional disabilities, autistic features and learning disabilities. During this time Glen Eden also offered clinical services to adults with complex physiological/emotional challenges who had not responded successfully to session therapies.

  • 1987 – Glen Eden began the use of an alpha/numeric data system that records a range of expressed behaviours on an ongoing basis.
  • 1988 – Glen Eden became accredited as a special education program in the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
  • 1992 – Glen Eden began its use of measuring physiology as part of its treatment approach.
  • 1999 – Glen Eden became an approved non-public agency in Washington State.

We have collaborated with Children’s Hospital psychiatrists and with two research based neurologists in the region. Using our approach we have successfully treated children and adolescents from 6 countries and have trained and/or offered consulting services to psychiatrists, psychologists and other mental health professionals in Washington State, California, Massachusetts, Michigan, England, Belgium and China.
